Personality[]
Red is a gem with a strange temperament, although she may have a great sense of duty and justice, tends to be an introverted person with some anger problems due to stress caused by work, despite these outbursts normally she is quite a hardworking individual and kind to other gem and life forms.
Backstory[]
Red Spinel was created in a distant colony in the Era 1, a volcanic planet that became Yellow' Diamond's colony, but wasn't completely harvested due its instability and the fact that the shattering of Pink Diamond happened a few hundred years after, stopping the process of colonisation which was already really slow, for now this planet which was named Durktourea remains as an outpost/base.
She spent most of her time there working as a bodyguard for the researchers and such, even though she's a bit more taller than the rest of Spinels wasn't label as defective since she had different and useful properties, giving her another chance and apply to be an slightly higher rank, rather than only be a entertainer.
Once the war started, part of her unit was taken to Earth to fight against the Rebellion, something she wasn't so proud to be part of, most of those gems wanted freedom and she was just following orders for the sake of her colony and the rest of Homeworld, making her bitter over time and cold.
Sadly she couldn't escape from the attack of the Diamond Authority that day, but wasn't left behind really, she just made sure other gems and her friends escaped safely back to Homeworld along with her small squad, causing them go get corrupted in the process.
Red Spinel and the little Spinels stayed in their corrupted stated for a while in some random outpost that was used as a fortress, her staying in some sort of draconic forms while the others acted as her "children", until they were finally taken down and healed at the end, Red decided to come back to Yellow Diamond's colony for now, but still felt strange and somewhat lost since too much time passed, so ended up coming back to Earth, thankfully in the present is much more easy to move between colonies.

Her corruption state works as a energy core, she drains energy from light and hot spots, with this energy she gets bigger and stronger, but becomes more unstable and hard to control, when there's no more energy to drain, eventually she will fall apart if she doesn't have a constantly energy source. Her corrupted state body is made of lava, rocks and other minerals that she absorbs during the transition, that means when the energy "goes off" she will not retreat normally like other gems, she just will fall apart like an old statue and retreat eventually.

She is an old friend of Red, she's like her little sister. Red was her guard at her section when she was just a runt, they used to talk for hours, Sodalite liked to share her inventions with her, even if Red didn't understand anything at all.

- Different healing properties are attributed to spinel depending on its colour. Red spinel is thought to enhance vitality. Both green and pink spinel are said to encourage love and compassion. Violet spinel is associated with spiritual development and yellow is linked to the intellect.
- Spinel is a non-traditional zodiac stone for Gemini and is associated with the planet Mercury. In feng shui, spinel is said to carry yang fire energy.
