Citrine is a novice engineer freshly recruited by Homeworld. He is loyal to his mentor, Bismuth, to which he was assigned as an assistant. On his off time however, he returns to his own personal project, The Gem Resonance Research.

Personality[]

Heavy and sweet. Some say that Citrine can bring a hint of sunshine to dull days, thus the nickname 'Sunshine'.

Citrine was the Gem that had a hard time, due to his small stature, usually the last one picked for every team that required any sort of athletic prowess. This has been his lot in life; though it being a challenging, and not exactly glamorous one, he has learned to accept it with grace.

Despite his failings in instances of popularity or "fitting in", Citrine excels in many others. He's extremely intelligent and usually has things figured out long before everyone else. His logic, common sense, and fair judgment make him wise beyond his years and he can be quite the scholar. Even though he possesses brainpower far beyond the average populace, he does not often get asked for advice. Citrine is an extremely passionate and dedicated Gem when it comes to his interests and goals, and though he doesn't always realize it, this oftentimes alienates others.

Though he is generally kind and understanding, Citrine can get a little pushy and overbearing when he thinks his beliefs are being questioned. He has a hard time discerning when people are joking or when it is serious business (though, usually, it is the former and Citrine himself is the brunt of the joke). His sense of humor could use a little work. Still, he enjoys spending time with friends and possesses a true and loyal heart. One thing he hates is letting people down, so he tries extra hard to finish what he begins and never give up when people are depending on him.

Citrine has an affinity and passion for alien technology and antiquities. Because of this, he spends most of his time indoors studying his artifacts. However, if there is an opportunity to leave the safety of the lab for a chance to acquire new alien technology, he will jump at the opportunity. Citrine possesses bravery and hardiness of a unique kind. At first glance, people do not see it in him, but, when it is needed, it shows itself in spades. Because he has very little experience of the world beyond his own backyard, he can often come off as naïve. This, combined with his stubbornness and tenacity, can make him a difficult and frustrating person to deal with, but, if you find some way to show him appreciation for his hard work and ambition, he will be your best friend for life.

Appearance[]

Citrine is a small Gem, standing no taller than three feet tall. He may be small, but it is hard to not notice him, due to his intense bright coloring. His bright yellow skin can even slightly glow in the dark when Citrine wants it to. The glow originates from his gem, so it is brightest from that point. He has large, dark red eyes. On his head, an orange and red Mohawk points up, along with two tufts of hair that fall to the sides of his face. He wears an orange robe with a trim, tied with dark, reddish brown sash around the waist. Underneath, he wears a dark red bodysuit, and brown diamond-shaped knee pads conjoined with orange boots.

Abilities[]

Citrine possesses standard Gem abilities, including weapon-summoning, bubbling, shapeshifting, fusion, regeneration, agelessness and superhuman durability. He has a high intellect, manipulating technology with ease. His hand-to-hand combat abilities, however, are questionable. Citrine is not very strong, but can sure take a hit. He seems to have tougher skin than your average Gem. When activating his gemstone, Citrine can summon a sharp boomerang. He can also shine in the dark if you ever need a light.

Unique Abilities[]

Citrine, using his ability to glow.

  • Glow in the dark: Citrine has the ability to shine, and it is mostly visible in dark places. The ability shines brightest from his right arm, seeming as if his gem is the origin of the glow. He has yet to master the use of this ability, since it has gone off during unwanted situations. The light is somehow linked to his state of being and/or emotions. There have been moments where he has called upon it, but, because of his negative state, he is unable to do so.

Weaponry[]

Citrineweapon

Citrine's boomerang.

  • Boomerang: Like all other Gems, Citrine has the ability to summon a weapon through his gem. His weapon is a sharp-edged boomerang. The boomerang is yellow with red coloration on the inside. It has decorative yellow accents inside, and a replica of his own gem in the middle. The boomerang is able to cut through numerous things, like stone and some forms of metal. Miraculously, it does not cut Citrine himself, either because of his thick skin or because he is its weilder. Citrine very rarely summons his weapon, relying more heavily on techology to defend himself. He would only summon his weapon if it was a dire situation and all other options were null.

The Gem Resonance and Regeneration Research[]

Citrine, studying Gem Destabilizers.

Known as the R.R.R. or tripple R. Citrine has grown an interest in what powers Gem Destabilizers, wanting to study them closer to uncover more behind regeneration. He studies Gem Fusions as well, believing that the ability behind fusing might hold a key to regenaration. Stable fusions are more successful, because they resonate somehow; Gem Destabilizers break that resonance, resulting in Gems unfusing, and, in some cases, retreating back to their gems. If they can be taken apart, can gems be placed back together once destroyed? This is what Citrine has been trying to uncover with the help of various technology.

He has a fascination with alien technology, even risking himself or others to acquire new tech, more so if he sees it could have use to further his studies of Gem Resonance.

Past[]

Some issues here to describe his personality. GET TO IT MADIE!!!

Relationships[]

Bismuth[]

One of Homeworld's top engineers, and Citrine considers himself lucky to have become his assistant.

Axinite[]

A large, fused Gem that Citrine has grown rather fond of. They met during Citrine's internship with Bismuth. Axinite is composed of Thomsonite and Beryl.

Topaz[]

Topaz is Bismuth's superior and original mentor. Because of this, Citrine follows his orders, regardless of what is asked. Citrine is rather nervous and fearful around Topaz because of his unstable personality.

Turquoise[]

A small, blue Gem he met on one of Homeworld's ships. Citrine feels indebted to Turquoise, since she defended him from Topaz when they first met.

Fusions[]

Hibonite[]

Hibonite is composed of Thomsonite and Citrine. Hibonite was Citrine's very first fusion. Thomsonite and Beryl insisted he try to fuse, since it is a basic requirement as a Homeworld recruit.
